[Mac] The smart Smart Folder

I wonder why Apple “we own the most advanced OS in the world” keeps hiding some of the most useful stuff in Mac OS X. Or, specifically, they tend not to share more detailed informations with power users.
One great example are Smart Folders: a kind of live search of files and folders, filtered by user-specified criteria, such as extension, date of creation, file size, owner, megapixel in a photo, and so on.
Wow, that’s cool and shining, so what’s the point?

Se c’è una cosa che non capisco è perché Apple “ho il sistema operativo più avanzato del mondo” tenda a nascondere le cose veramente utili. O che, meglio, renda addirittura difficoltoso l’accesso ad informazioni più dettagliate a utenti più curiosi e smaliziati. L’esempio più lampante (ma non è certo l’unico) sono le smart folders: una specie di ricerca live di files e cartelle filtrata da criteri di (quasi) qualsiasi tipo, dall’estensione alla dimensione, dalla data di creazione al proprietario, dai megapixel di un’immagine al bitrate di un file audio.
E qui casca l’asino.
